Mūl-Yukti: Why Everything Begins Here
The one course with no prerequisite, and the reason for that

Most schools of practice offer a menu. Pick what appeals, start where you like, add more later.
Yukti Sadhana has a door.
Everyone comes through the same one, and it is called Traya Yukti — the Mūl-Yukti, the root method.
What the root does
The Mūl-Yukti is Traya Yukti — combining Sthira, Prāṇa and Śūnya. It trains the mind to become steady, the breath to become subtle, and the inner space to become empty and peaceful.
Three outcomes, and every later practice assumes all three.
A specialised Yukti for metabolism assumes you can hold a stable seat. One for mental patterns assumes a breath refined enough not to disturb the work. One for subtle balance assumes you have some acquaintance with inner space.
Without the root, the later Yuktis do not fail dramatically. They simply do not take.
What the root opens
Built on Traya Yukti are 108 specialised Yuktis, gathered around three broad human needs:
- Improving metabolism and vitality — gently activating the system, supporting digestion and the flow of energy
- Cultivating positive thoughts — inner methods for transforming mental patterns and nurturing constructive functioning
- Subtle balance and lightness — techniques for feeling lighter, refining balance, and touching a higher state of inner space
One hundred and eight, all resting on five.
Why a single entry point is the right design
A common door is sometimes read as restriction. It is closer to the opposite.
Because everyone begins in the same place, nobody has to work out where they belong, nobody assembles a practice from fragments, and nobody discovers three years in that they were missing a foundation. The sequencing has already been thought through.
There is also a simpler reason. Everything after Traya Yukti is taught in person, at the ashram, to people the teachers know. The foundation course is where that relationship begins.
